Hi Phil,
Remember me? The other day we sat next to each other on the train from
Amsterdam to Leiden. Found your web site. And your big project, roller skiing for health
and fitness! Looks good. And how much in great shape you yourself appear. What body there!
Myself I don't smoke and don't use any alcohol and eat little. Not
from high principle, it's just how I am.
Should though seek more physical motion, found myself a pair of
sporting shoes, some jogging to begin.
Anyway, enjoy life. Can it get lonely when moving unmotorised for
weeks over such distances? Drop me a note any time roller skiing through
Amsterdam.
Andy

Hello Phil,
My name is Helmut.
You met me in the centre of Deventer, I was standing outside my shop
with some neighbours. ( I am the man who said "you made me very weak".
) At that moment we did not realise how serious your mission is, so
we where a little Joking.Today I read everything about you in the
local newspaper, and I am impressed. You know, my boyfriend suffered
from heartproblems too. He smoked 3 (!!) packages a day. He got a
heartinfarct and he stopped smoking at once. He recovered and lived for
almost 8 years more.Unfortunatly he died in 2003 from cancer at the
pancreas.I try to live as healthy as can be, but i try also to enjoy
life. Dear Phil, I hope you will succeed in your mission, although some
people don't want to hear your message. Stay strong!! I wish for you a
long, healthy and happy life. Love,
Helmut Bleeker
Hi Phil,
We just exchanged a few words a good week ago at the Irish pub at
Breda. Now I read in my local newspaper you made it to Enschede and
are progressing in Germany.
I want to wish you good luck from all of my friends here at
www.virtualtourist.com. If you need some help or want to meet
wonderful locals, drop a message at our travel forum.
Have fun,
Pieter Jan Vink
Hi Phil,
I saw you last Sunday in a small pub in Zwolle, where you came in and
told your story through a microphone during a pub quiz. I was the quiz
master that night.
I was wondering if I could talk to you in my travel show on Dutch
national Radio 1. It's broadcast every Monday evening between 8 and
9pm by the broadcastingorganisation BNN. Check out the Dutch website at
www.wegmetbnn.nl.
Let me know if you can be reached by phone (or anyway else: visit the
studio in Hilversum) on coming Monday. Looking forward to speaking
with you!
Regards!

Dear Phil,
This morning I read an article in the paper about you.
The special way you roll on and meet young people is wonderful. So you
can talk with them about your healthy way of life.
You have my respect and for me you are the one that motivates my
intention to start with more excercise that fits to my chronical
diseases. I wish you wonderful weeks till the end of your trip. Take care. Wish
you light on your path.
Warm regards,
Truus

Dear Mr. Shaw,
I'm writing you as a journalist of Press Agency Neos. We met last
Sunday in Zwolle (perhaps you remember you wished us merry Christmas
because of the Christmas decoration at our cafe) where you told us
your story.
Neos is producing news videos for the Internet and we'd like to cover
your progress. Is it possible to do an interview with you tomorrow, if
you're still in the Netherlands? This because of the fact we're
producing primarly for the Dutch market.
I hope to speak to you soon. I already called your mother and left my
telephone number there. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Vincent Wever

Hello Phil!
We met you i Herning in a pizza bar this evening, and were quit
impressed by your story. So we went home to chek your homepage, and read a bit
about you and your journey. I guess we just wanted to tell you that we think
what you are doing is great, so keep up the good (hard) work, you are working
for a good cause, Denmark could really use our own Captain positive!
By the way are you a christian? ( was just wondering because of the
cross on your arm )
Please forgive me for my uncorrect english!!
The best of luck from the two of us....Maria and Louise...sorry that
I thought you were from the states.....
Greetings Sir.
My name is Martin Kragh. The date is 07-24-05 and the time is 03.22 am. 5
hours ago, 2 of my friends and me meet you in a pool/game hall named
Pitstop in herning, denmark. Found your email on glide-roll.com, and i felt an
urge to write you. You are a true source of inspiration. Dont really know
what to write, except that you awoke something in me that has been asleep
for a number of years now. My motivation for living a healthier life has
once again been awoken. This journey of yours truly is amazing. From italy
to norway. I hope that you will arrive at your designated destination
safely, and i will keep visiting your web page once in a while. I really
admire you and your courage.

Hi Phil,
Saw you today on your skiis in a Thai-restaurant in Helsingborg,
Sweden. Noted your web-address and have now looked a bit into all the
challenges you have put yourself against during the years, impressive!
Great achievements, keep up and spread your joyful mission wherever
you go! Hope you will encounter some happy scandinavians before you
end this european part of your journey.
Take care and keep up!
Kind regard
