Dear Gatineau Loppet fans,
I have been an avid Gatineau Loppet skier since the late 1980's.
I have always been impressed by the high caliber of the skiers, the organizers and the challenging terrain of the Gatineau Loppet. This is what lures me every year to what is known as the most popular cross-country skiing event in Canada. So impressed that I have recently joined the Board of directors of the Gatineau Loppet.
As a member of the Board, I am now more able to notice and appreciate the energy deployed by the organization, mostly volunteers, to keep this event to a high level, but also the challenges to which the event is confronted. As an active collaborator, I wanted to outlined to you, my view of what I consider as the three very important facts :
1) The race course and skier talent are variants that remain the unchanged.
2) The quality of the organizing committee is also very good.
3) The funding of the event is still a challenge.
For that final reason, I wish to thank the sponsors of the event and invite other companies which cares for cross-country skiing in Canada to come forward and ask how they could contribute, with respect to their budget capacity. I also invite skiers to encourage those sponsors (see list on our Home page at www.gatineauloppet.com. Without them, the holding of the event would not be possible. Because of them, Canada is able to present a high level and very popular cross-country skiing event. Their involvement also contributes to the development of our favourite sport.
If you have any suggestions regarding other companies that could be considered as potential sponsors, please do not hesitate to send your ideas and thoughts at the following e-mail address
